1) Lecture: “Climate Change, Sustainability, Science and Governance”

Dr. Thelma Krug – Graduate in Mathematics and PhD in Space Statistics (Univ. Sheffield 1992). She is accredited on the expert panel of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and was elected IPCC Vice-President in 2015. Thelma has served on the SERE and OBT leaderships with INPE, was director of the Policy Department for the Combating Deforestation (2016/2017) and Secretary for Climate Change and Environmental Quality at MMA, as well as Secretary for S&T Policies and Programs at MCTI. Participated in the coordination of the Latin American Society for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (SELPER), the Large-Scale Amazon Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment (LBA), and the International Union of Forestry Research Tropical Forests Data Sub-Program. Organizations (IUFRO). He was co-chair of the IPCC National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Task Force and was a member of the IGBP / IHDP Land Use / Cover Change Project Scientific Committee of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Small Satellite Subcommittee and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) Board of Trustees.
